Project: TAHQUITZ – a novel

Native American legend holds that the spirit of an evil shaman – Tahquitz – dwells in his namesake canyon on the outskirts of Palm Springs. To this day he makes trouble… Tom Harper lives a survivalist life in the rugged canyons and mountains, much of it reservation land, overlooking the famous resort city in California. It’s the early 1980s and “Tahquitz Tom” has been wounded in a war, spent time in jail and been separated for years from his wife and their son. He finds solace in the wilderness, seeking to live life like his native ancestors did. When he emerges from his mountain retreat and stumbles upon a body in the desert, Tom inadvertently becomes the main suspect in the murder of a prominent local real estate bigwig.
